buying and selling on ebay

Hi everyone,

I'm a full-time student in heaps of debt and I'm desperate for legitimate money making ideas!

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about buying and selling on ebay... I dont really have any old junk worth selling, and I tried putting on a load of clothes I dont wear any more but no-one wanted them! (I've been skint for a long time & never buy new clothes, hence the ones I was getting rid of were so crap no-one wanted to buy them lol).

So basically I'm thinking of something like buying stuff wholesale (on a small scale as I dont have much to outlay) and then selling individually on ebay.

Has anyone done this? Did it work? What sort of stuff would be good to sell?

I've been looking at clothing/jewellry/hippy things that you can buy from india on ebay in bulk then sell individually, but there's so much of that stuff about I dont know if it would sell!

My other idea was to make stuff to sell, but this is really time consuming, and as i'm not a naturally crafty person would probably be a bit hit and miss! lol.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a full-time student nurse, so often on placement full time (24/7 shifts) making it difficult to work a regular part-time job. I do the odd bank shift when I can fit it in at the hospital but I've got so much debt from before I became a student I really need to make some extra cash!

thanks! :T

When you decide to start your business, you need to research that product market a little bit and find out if anybody is buying the products you want to sell. If there are not enough people buying the products, then you need to come up with another product.

Fashion clothing are actually good items to sell however, if you go to eBay you will see that there are so many sellers who are selling them as well. But if you still want to sell fashion clothing, you have to make your listings really exceptional to make it stand out. This site might be able to help you. Those are 10 tips on making it on eBay.

  • what about looking at ebay to see if you can pick up cheaper mobile phones or video games and then selling them on again on ebay or to the phone recycling sites or the likes of musicmagpie or tradeyourstuff - use their prices as a basis of what constitutes a good deal..
