Hellman's mayonnaise

My other half is tolerant in the extreme of my moneysaving, but the one thing I'm unable to shift her on is Hellmans mayonnaise. Does anybody know of either an "own brand" that is effectively the same stuff, or one that is up to the quality of Hellmans. Althernatively, where is the cheapest place to buy it!

    You could make your own?

    I'm sure there's a recipe here somewhere, I'll go search ...

My local Sainsburys have jars with 25% free on it - 750g in total for about £1.80, IIRC.

I too like Hellmans and many other mayonnaise. There are many other very good mayonnaises out there some on par with Hellmans and some better, but at the end of the day, nothing tastes like Hellmans. Look out for when it's on offer, it often is - either 25 or 50% free or 1/3 off the price and stock up - that's the best way of saving money, rather than buying something you don't like.

I vary my mayo, but trust me, nothing tastes like Hellmans.

I'm sorry but I find your post hilarious. I feel so sorry for this poor woman of yours who has to put up with your "extreme" moneysaving, to the fact that that your now trying to deny her the luxury of a jar of Hellmanns mayonnaise!. :rotfl:

    Bless her!

Go to any Sainsburys or Tesco cafe and pick them up for free.

Wasn't it Hellmanns' TV advertising campaign that protrayed people eating the most terrible foods made edible with a whizzed up dollop of oil, egg, water on it?

    Ref.
