Bank and Credit card statements, how far back will the OR ideally want?

In another post someone mentioned that if I have all statements this might help the OR as he/she won't have to wait for the creditors to send them. I have access to the last 12 months online and can print those off, but older ones I need to order at a cost of £4. Both have said if I order them they will just add the cost on to my current balance. Therefore I'd like to go ahead and order them now, because I'm guessing that once I can not longer afford the min payment and offer a token amount instead or stop paying altogether (the month leading up to BR) they might insist I pay for them with a debit card instead.

So what I need to know is how many months statements do they want. Is it 12, 24 months or longer?

They will usaully ask for 12 months. Just cooperate and give them what you have or can get hold of. Make sure to list all your creditors, the OR will contact each creditor and ask them for what they need.

They initially ask for 12 months, then if there's anything that needs a deeper investigation they'll ask for more, but they'll usually go straight to the creditors for those. They can go back as far as they want.

I wouldn't bother ordering them as that will just mean you either have to post them to the OR or hand deliver them. They can (and will) get what they need.

I appreciate they can get them, but I thought in most cases they asked you for them, so surely I would have to do that anyway?

not really....they will ask for any statements you currently have...if you've none then they will source themselves instead of you going to the trouble & expense
