reducing redemption repayment

I have just sold my flat and purchased another where I will be mortgage free. I last took out a two year fixed interest rate in April 2008. I have now been advised that this period is until the end of June and I would have to pay £6,500 redemption fee. Are there any negotiations I can make for these additional two months? Or other suggestions please?

Can you delay the sale of your flat for 2 months ?
Ring the lender and ask will they reduce the ERC or better still cancel it !
    You can only ask.
