The beer thing - at a recent wedding we went to, the bride/groom had arranged for 100 pints for guests on arrival, the servers went around with 50ish pints on trays and when they had gone they were circulating doing top ups from jugs.
16/17 years olds can have a glass of wine with dinner along with everyone else, but its at the discresion of the hotel management (and the parents of course!):jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0
