The basic idea, is that we push an artist from Slicethepie to the mass public, the mass public buy shares from Slicethepie in the artist. When the single is released we concentrated buy the single over a week, one per person. The single charts, cue media frenzy because artists dont make the charts without a label. The share prices rises in value and everyone makes a return and we all have a few
If not we all get the warm fuzzy feeling of helping an unsigned artist (and a charity soon to be named) and still make some money back on the shares we have bought!
Thanks for reading! Any questions and reservations give me a shout I will be on hand to answer them as best I can!

P.s - I know it seems far fetched right now but with everyones help we could make it a big reality!

Hi just a brief update, with some figurework for you to consider
Using Machine OEM as an example as their current share is circa 65p.
This would mean they would need to sell 65,000 singles for you to break even on their share price factor in the cost of the single 79,000.
So thats 144,000 singles need to be sold a big number but, with each share you also get a higher return on albums needing only 10,000 sold to make £1. Also bear in mind if they only sell 85,000 singles and 5000 albums but you have 5 shares you will have swallowed the cost of the single and made a small profit.
The Rage single sold 200,000 copies in one day in that campaign. If we can get it into the charts I'm confident we could make a decent return if not a good one. Also if a label snaps up the band in the campaign you make a 150% return on the current price. Recently this happened leading to investors netting an 800% return on their pound investment http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/2010/jan/21/fan-funded-model-record-deal
(I think the actual figure has been rounded up I make it 788% but still a worthy increase!)
Please spread the word and join the group, like I say any reservations I am on hand to answer them.
Its a bet after all but one I find quite intriguing!0
