Hi all. I am due to attend an official meeting with my HOD and HR next week to discuss various issues I have raised concerning my employment of almost 9 years in the same job. Throughout that time, my contract hours have increased and I have always had the same weekday off, although this has been worked when required. A new supervisor and HOD took over the dept in january 2009 when I was asked to take a Monday as my day off which was already the case anyway and I agreed. Nothing was put in writing. For 6 months, I had Mondays off. Unfortunately, I had an accident at home early July and was off work for 6 months. I returned to work in january and suddenly, my weekday off is at the supervisors discretion and I dont know when this will be until mid- week the week before. I had a hospital appt. sent to me for a Monday since my return and asked for either my day off to be changed or for this to be taken as A/L. The supervisor was sarcastic and said it was 'very hard' for her to find cover for me. She did change my day off but made me feel as though I owed her a huge debt. I have never taken any time off for an appointment in my entire employment. Is there any point in me complaining about this or is it a situation I have to accept? If my day off is a Monday, I am only getting 2 working days notice.

I work from 2pm on a Wedneday and the following weeks shift rota is on the desk when i get in or given to me before 3pm. I am contracted for 4 days ( 6 hour shifts) and the other day has been my day off, although i regularly work this as overtime depending on staff holidays/sickness etc. I dont know what my actual day off is going to be any week now unti, tne week before on a Wednesday.0
