Hi all,

Have just checked my bank account online, we have a secured loan payment that goes out every month on or around the 16th, if the 16th is a sunday -like today- it always goes out the following day............ HOWEVER I have just checked online and they have taken the payment already, but have put tomorrows date next to it?! Can they do this, I don't know why but I am really annoyed lol it just feels wrong?!

It happens a lot to me. The money won't leave your account until tomorrow. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

I also have the same thing with my wages. Sometime I can see them on the Sunday, even if they are not due in until the Monday. That's with LTSB btw.

    Thanks for replying!!

When it happens to you does your available balance show as different to your balance? As though the money is going rather than gone (if that makes sense) as mine is showing both amounts as the loan being gone :/

I can't remember, but it wouldn't surprise me if the money was showing as gone as it's already an authorised transaction.

I don't know why it happens, but I honestly don't think that there's anything too sinister about it. It's just something that I've noticed. It's only ever happened to me at weekends (ie. not after close of business on a working day).

In my online banking I see different balances.

my actual balance and my available balance.

So if a DD has been requested or card payment authorised my available balance is lower than actual balance for about 3-4 days.

I look at it that those funds have been set aside to make the payment, so while still in my account thet aren't available as I have promised them to someone else.
    I have a cunning plan!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.

Natwest tend to process Mondays transactions overnight on Friday/Saturday and LTSB do their Monday transactions on Sunday afternoon. It makes no difference really, as you are required to have funds in the account at the start of the business day in order to meet those payments. On the plus side, any credits going on will show as well, so if you were receiving your salary on Monday in a Lloyds account it would actually be available to you on Sunday evening.
