would new broadband contract affect my debt situation adversley

I am thinking about changing my broadband package, same provider, better deal. It would mean me signing a new contract tying in for 18 months. So 2 questions
1) Would the provider (orange) agree it as I am existing customer pay by direct debit anyway, or would it be turned down due to my credit problems?
2)I have arrangements with my creditors through the Citizens advice bureau to repay set amounts. and was advised not to take out any new credit till debts repaid. This wouldnt be new credit per see, just anew agreement with a company I already have noted with my creditors, and it would save me £6 a month which I could use to increase the set amount at some point -so would this be seen as renaging on my arrangeents by the creditors or would they accept it as it frees up mony for them,no matter how small?
thankx

Hi Pebble, I don't actually know the answer to that. Is Orange currently one of your creditors? If you were a new customer, they'd run a credit check on you and that will have been affected by your DMP. However, I think some companies do an internal check on existing customers, so it might only be a problem if you owe them money. And depending on how they work, even if you owe them but are paying up regularly, you might be ok. You'd probably be best giving them a call.
Ditto CAB. I can't see that it should impact on your DMP at all, but if it's worrying you, you'd be best to give them a buzz.
Sorry, that wasn't much help! Sorry I can't give more concrete advice. Good luck.Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55
