AVC - 100% tax free lump sum.

Well I had a surprize. My pension (final salary) can still be taken from 55+ despite my belief that it had gone up to 60.
But the bigger news is that the AVC can be taken as a 100% lump sum.
Anyone else heard of this? It was a total surprize to me.
