Minimum house price quandary

I want to buy a house for £46K that sold in 2007 for £90K (offer accepted). Some of my cash is tied up at the moment so I need a mortgage.
NatWest only lend to houses worth £50k, Principality £60K and Whiteaway Laidlaw Bank an astonishing £125K. If prices really do crash, they won't lend to anybody :rotfl:
So, at peak I could have borrowed more than the house is now worth but now I cannot borrow half of what it is currently worth. No wonder the banking system collapsed - it's run by idiots.
Guess what, I can borrow what I need on balance transfer credit cards - but I won't.

Try a building society with low local house prices.
Or buy for 50k with a cash back on completion to the vendor:)I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Don't we all! That was the full valuation on my SO studio, on a council road, miles out of town, in about 1990!Gorgeous_George wrote: »I want to buy a house for £46K
Can't you just write a cheque out for it? That's what I'd do :P0 -
