    no.....my paypal account continued.....

Is the paypal account linked directly to your bank account? [for payments and receipts?]

If the accounts linked to Paypal have been closed/frozen, then the same happens to Paypal.

Do you have your basic bank accounts set up yet?
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

  • because the basic bank account was closed (banks choice not OR's) paypal have closed my account as no card listed on account on speaking with them and stupidly explaining why no card listed as waiting for new bank account details they closed my account forever as in their words 'bankrupt people are too high a risk for paypal'.

  • how long ago was this? do you think they have changed their policy, because that is exactly what I said to them and was told my account was being closed no discussion, I have always had a clean record with them so as you can imagine not feeling too good about it.

this was nearly 3yrs ago....so they "may" have changed things but I doubt very much as many peeps here have kept paypal accs after bankruptcy...even using paypal pre-paid cards as well....very strange i'd ask again & file a complaint regards the probem

  • Hi I have emailed them filing a complaint and hope will hear more tomorrow - dont hold out much hope though as the guy was quite adamant as said earlier stating 'too high a risk for paypal' I am a little minnow in the business world and never any problems with paypal account - used regularly for ebay store nothing owing to them (actually in credit) and used for my own website so really fed up - i asked when i would be able to open an account again and he said i wouldnt be able to at all once gone bankrupt.

I have to say mine was fine too and have had no problems. Would it be worth you opening a new account with your new card. You may have to use a different email address but it may get you up and running.

  • Have just received a reply from paypal following my filing a complaint, I have to forward a copy of my bankruptcy order and get a letter from the official receiver stating that they do not wish any funds going into my paypal account to be forwarded to them - why am i getting all this hassle if others arent? my bankruptcy was very straightforward owed no money other than to the banks and not a huge amount either.
