Changind from weekly to 4 weekly pay

Hi everyone

Im looking for some advice from you all.

My fiance is getting a promotion at work and moving from weekly pay to 4 weekly, my issue is that he is c**p with money, constantly lives in his overdraft and has got a terrible credit rating, and i am concerned that he wont be able to deal with this change so im looking for any advice you can offer!!

Part of this promotion is that he will get a 3.5k payrise so in theory there will be more money coming into the house to help with this, but i just dont think he will get it (he is a stick your head in the sand kinda guy)

I have heard people say get another bank account and transfer enough money for the bills into this account, but im concerned he wont get another account because of his credit rating and i cannot risk getting a joint account and him still having problems as it could pose problems for me later on (i am a trainee accountant)

can anybody offer any advice on how to get through the first month with no money coming in and a hefty mortgage to pay, eeeek!!!

Thanks!!!

Set up a Direct Debit for his paycheque to your account the day after payday & then you can help him budget it.
