Another Fancy Dress Thread

Ok heres the problem.

My sister is having fancy dress for her 30th party. The theme is TV/Movies.

I'm her only sister so I am expected to make an effort but I am at a loss at what to go as.

Ive already kitted out my hubby and two sons so its been expensive, but I have managed that just leaves me.

I am a sze 16/18 so a lot of ebay outfits are too small or a bit too expensive for the larger sizes - I can sew a bit - but I need inspiration.

I was set on Cruella but someone else already has that outfit.

So please, you clever ones, inspire me!

thanks all

A friend of mine is having a fancy dress party, 80's TV/movie theme. I'm a 14/16 so a similar size to you, am NOT a fan of fancy dress lol, and have a very limited budget. So my plan is to go as Dangermouse - white jeans, white long sleeved top (will make the logo and stick it on), and belt. Then ebay sell the full-face masks for around £5, which is the only bit I'll have to buy.

Cant remember the name of the film, one from the 80's with Madonna in it. You could wear 80's clothing, leg warmers, bandanna through your hair, bright red lipstick. My friend went to an 80's fancy dress party recently and she could have been in that film! Didn't cost her much either, borrow the leg warmers, got a cheap bandanna and some jewellery from Claire's.

If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

  • Me and DD went to a fancy dress last year as Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World. I wore a Led Zep t-shirt, blue check shirt, ripped jeans, blond shaggy wig and Austin Powers-type glasses. I'll never go out dressed as a man again - no make-up! It killed me. ;)
