I did chuckle to myself today, on the MNBA site it said that paper copies of each statement were £4 each, but said they would be just billed to the card .. at first I was p*ssed and couldn't be believe they had the cheek to charge me £4 to essentially get a computer to print off a single statement, but then of course I realised that if I did order a whole bunch, I wouldn't really be paying at the end of the day, because it would just get added to my debt and once I go BR ..;).

  • I had about 16 creditors and I was discharged after 6mths. But tbh the early discharge doesn't make much difference in the grand scheme of things, my credit history will still be terrible for 6yrs. It has never actually caused me any problems - I have 2 bank accounts and have never had any trouble with either (Co-Op is my main one, Nationwide as a 2nd as no Co-Op in my town), I have a debit card on my main account, nd I have no desired to borrow as much as bus fare ever again, so my credit record isn't too much of a worry. I was worried when looking for a flat, but I was honest and told them I had been bankrupt and that was fine too.
  • I agree with what others have said really. When going BR get it in your own head that you will be bankrupt for 12 months. Even if the OR mentions ED still think your in it for 12 months. We were constantly having the ED words told to us by our trustee. I got to a point when Id given up when we received the paperwork to tell us that it had been granted two weeks prior. We were bankrupt for exactly 6 months (but a very long 6 months)
I had only 3 creditors. My OH had about 14. We also had assets, and they managed to get £10k+ out of our estate.
