Barclaycard help/ default advice needed please

Hi all,

Just a little help and advice please. i have just entered my DMP this month. My 1st payments have gone yippee and am beginning to heave a sigh of relief until i spoke to BC.
I haven't received any confirmation of acceptance of my DMP but my statement online has the new reduced amount as the minimum payment. The call collections call centre seems to be abroad? I rung up and they said in there infiinite wisdom they could not comment on the interest and charges they were going to charge me!! Go figure, so i spouted off i had a right to know and i wanted a letter confirming there acceptance. She came back with once i have paid 2 months payments they would send a letter. Is this the norm?

Also does anyone have a number for BC collections in the UK and as i am abroad a UK no not a 0844 one?

Also does anyone have any advice on defaulting. MBNA accepted straight away and have frozen interest and charges should i get them to default me i'm not too sure how it'll work on my credit file if they don't? ( even though it i don't want credit again)
RBS have accepted the offer and have passed me to their in house collections TRITON, does that mean i will get a default soon? They will not be charging me but are still adding interest. (a letter in the post to them soon i guess)

Hope this all makes sense, any views advice welcome.

Thank you all who post on here you made me have my LBM and get sorted.

Barclaycard do drag their heels a bit! Their main number for Northampton is 01604 234234 they should be able to put you through.

MBNA wont Default unless you default on the new agreed payments.

Triton is just another name for NWB Collections Department, so the'll keep charging!
    :D:D stay wonky :D:D

....one-way ticket to Portugal booked !
  • Do you think if i keep on writing to RBS/ Trtion etc etc that they may stop interest eventually?

If you are on an 'arranged' dmp through a 3rd Party ( CCCS etc....I hope you are NOT with a fee-charging blood-sucker) then you have more chance of the Interest being stopped. Keep asking......with reasons such as 'I am doing all I can to repay the debt and keeping to my agreed repayment schedule etc'
