Between us managed to put an answer on them all - the Merrymeet was a real find!

Also like the Sticker, and others.

Now packing and will be on our way to Yorkshire. Hope you all have a good journey to Littlehampton, and that everything goes brilliantly for your Mike and the meet up, keep your eye on MW she will lead you astray. Will try to keep in touch but it always goes manic as we get home.

Morning all................those of you travelling have a safe journey....Mike and the boys, just one more sleep left......you must be getting excited.......I cannot wait for the programme to air, I presume they will tell you when it will be. They will only use part of the footage they have filmed, I guess it takes a long time to edit...........hope everyone manages to keep the zip on.........

I had my gallbladder out in 1992 I was one of the fist to have the non invasive op.........I did have another bout of 'the pain' a couple of years later, was told it was probably grit travelling down the duct. Apart from that I have been fine......it was wonderful the first time I was able to have butter on my bread and eat chips, I had been on a fat free diet up till then...........

Make it Friday - there seems to be some hitherto unwritten rule that health gets worse at weekends, especially Bank Holiday weekends, when there is minimum chance of getting anything done!

This is especially true of toothache and sick children - wish I'd kept a written record because my family is almost guaranteed never to get ill on a weekday! Examples - my tooth that died over the last three days of a holiday abroad, me calling out emergency doctor to mum at 10 in the evening last BH. Exceptions - DD who cut her foot open the day I'd promised to meet a new neighbour's child from school, and DS who knocked two teeth out, again while I was caring for someone else's child and was in the middle of cooking dinner. They choose their moments!

The genuine exception to the 'never on a weekday' rule comes if you have a few days off work together, and you stop being stressed out by work and succumb to whatever lurgy is doing the rounds. You then get better the day before you are due to go back. Infallibly.

Just wishing a safe journey and 'merrymeet' to those travelling today - oh, this is exciting and I wish I was there but this is a good substitute!

Not just people - cats are the same. Ours got conjunctivitis or thrush every new years eve. Kinda hard to leave it on its own while you make merry, and vets love to come out in fancy dress on their way to their celebrations, and let you know this by charging double.
