I'm just 'Dad' to them. Some of their friends were quite impressed that their dad's been on the telly. Tempered by knowing what a crappy house he's got though!

Thanks, Poo. Also saw Jack's edited version of our holiday in Ibiza. He does stage tech/video/lighting/sound and is pretty nifty at it. Hadn't seen that myself! I never realised that the day comes when you realise your kids are better at some things than you. Or that discovering that gives you such a wave of pleasure.

And the more I know about you, Poo, and your websites of choice, the more my love grows. Seriously.

You must be so proud of them and I guess that takes away the twinge of saddness that they're growing up and becoming independant!

You've certainly taught them a fantastic lesson in that no matter what life throws at them, to pick yourself up and find the strength to fight on and that it's not weak to ask for and accept help when necessary.

It's not a crappy house, it's a quaint little cottage with a lot of potential. I'm sure their friends will see they have a Dad who's determined to achieve his goal in completing what he set out to do, no matter how difficult it is!

It certainly doesn't smell like the pot of soup I've just spectacularly manged to burn whilst catching up with every-one! I'd maybe have gone for a butternut squash risotto myself . Or banana loaf...
