Cheap PC World satnav - £127 (Nearly Closed)

I couldn't see this posted before, but sorry if it has.

I was looking to buy the Medion refurbished satnav posted earlier this week but missed out. An equally good bargain turned up at PC World - their 'Packard Bell GPS 400' satnav system for £127.00. It's on their website but only as a collect at store item (I got mine from Salisbury ... many stores are sold out).

It's a good little unit and there's quite a growing community around modifying it (for the techy people among us):

I got mine yesterday and it now runs TomTom and plays movies!

Modifying aside, if you're after cheap satnav, it's probably worth a look.

Oops ... looks like they've all sold out (though there may be the odd store with one in) ... sorry you missed out. Hopefully they will have more stock in soon!

The 'Harlow' store has 1/some for 'Collect at store' if you are in the Cambridge area ... (search for Cambridge and it's the 5th one down).

Or Exeter and Taunton ... they both seem to have some

The website says not, but Salisbury still had (at least) the display unit (assume it was a real one) at 5.30pm Saturday - potential extra discount for the haggler?

I purchased one of these units but have been so busy that it has just sat there in the box.

When I purchased the unit the seal on the box had already been broken so for all intents and purposes they may well say it has been used even though it hasn't.

I could now do with the money and wondered if anyone knew what PC Worlds refund policy is.

Anyone know what approach to take with PC World to get a refund?

Just take it back, assuming you've only just bought it. They will refund it I'm sure, particularly if you tell them the seal was broken when you bought it.

Has it got one of their white 'None Pristine Goods' labels on the box?

No such label on the box - what does that label mean exactly?

Thought I would update this thread.

Took the unit back to PC World and explained that it was no longer needed. As expected, the sales assistant said that as the box had been opened they could not give a refund. Advised him that it was purchased like that. He checked the contents and was satisfied that all was OK. He then mentioned that their refund policy is within 7 days and that this item had been bought 2 weeks ago. However, with all that said, he kindly gave me a full refund.

As an aside, I was surprised that PC World only offer a 7 day return facility which for such a large retailer is absolutely miserly.

Anyway, the Staines PC World now has one of these units for sale if anyone is interested.

I took something back after 2 months, with the receipt & the item was still sealed. Got a refund no problem.
