First I apolise if this is in the wrong place! Basically my question is...Im with nationwide and if I get any returned direct debit charges, does nationwide have to contact me before hand?? Thanks in advance

I think, if it's in the original terms and conditions, they don't have to. Though most places usually do to let you know the date the charges will be applied. As far as i know no.
Most people only find out when they check their statements, or recieve a letter from said dd company xDebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j
