I want a cheap Olive tree.

I saw a lovely Olive tree at the local (rather expensive garden centre), it was well over 100 quid!!!!!
Does anyone know where I can get cheaper?
Thinking of a day trip to France soon, do they sell them cheaper there I wonder?

Ken Muir does an olive 'sativa' tree for £24.75, which should fruit after 2-3 years.
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.
  • Hiya. I bought a small olive tree (Really small) from Lidl on Thursday for £3.99

Possibly not quite what you are looking for, but great to start with.

In July edition of Ideal Home there's an offer for a 'free' (4.70 p&p) bbq apron and implements with option to include olive tree for £8.49 or 2 for £11.98 (15-25cm tall). I'm considering ordering as it would be fun to grow even a handful of olives.

In the August Gardeners World magazine, there is a free olive tree for every reader. You just pay postage of £4.95 so its not entirely free. To order just call 01608 663366. The tree comes in a 9cm (3.5 in) pot.

Tried to order one over the phone. You need to send in a form from the mag, and a cheque
