Problem ? Vinegar in washing machine

Hi,
I have been using white vinegar in my washing machine for a couple of months now.
But I have noticed that all my underwear feels nasty or is deterirating.
Is there a link between elastic / lycra and vinegar?
I've just brought some replacement new underwear, and I certainly don't want to ruin this lot.
Thanks in advance
GW

I have been using vinegar for ages now, in fact I now use malt vinegar as I can't get hold of large tubs of white very easily. I haven't noticed any changes in the condition of my undies or delicates.
Are you using too much? I only use 1-2 tbsp per wash (although I don't measure it out, just sploosh a bit in)0 -
I Don't measure it, but I only do it to the bottom marker on the drawer, as opposed to the top when using fabric conditioner.
Maybe I've just gained a little too much weight and the elastic can't cope with the strain!
LOL
Thanks
