Grooms To Be - What Style suits Have You Chosen

Morning all

See as there's quite a few posts on here about ladies bridal/brides maid wear just wanted to know what style/attire the males and or the females have chosen for their groom whether it be Edwardian Jackets, Morning Suits, or Victorian Frockcoats

Guys, have you had much input in what you’re wearing on the big day or have you just left it to the ladies :)

  • Grey morning suit from Youngs. It's what I wanted, and so does the other half... so it was good to have something we both agreed on!
  • My OH has described what he wanted and I went into the shop, looked at the things and worked out what he meant, but only because I was passing the shop! I have written down what colour waistcoats would look best with my dress and his men and him are going for their fittings. Fortunately he had a clear idea of what he wanted though.
He's having Prince Edward jacke with normal trousers in grey herringbone with and ivory waistcoast and a navy-ish rouche.
    Bump due 22nd September
  • well my oh and his best man/ushers are having regular suits (that we bought in a sale)
he wanted just normal suits and he wanted to buy them rather than rent so thats what we did :) We went to the shop together and he tried on a load of differnet suits and we picked the one that went with the colour scheme best, then I went online and ordered them

Then we got shirts from debenhams when we were out one day

then I convinced him that they should have waistcoats to make it more weddingy, so I ordered one for my other half and got him to try it on and he agreed it made it more weddingy
so they all have waistcoats and cravats (that I ordered so they would be the right colour to go with bridesmaids dresses :) )

still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:
  • Lots of kilts up here in Scotland... But as he hates them my other half is having a bespoke tweed suit made - it looks great and is something he will get lots of wear out of for years.
  • My HTB is having a Price Edward morning suit from 1860

it looks fabulous on and will suit him, our dads as well as our 14 year old son!
Women marry men hoping they will change, men marry women hoping they won't! Inevitably they will both be disappointed.

  • My daughter and oh are getting married abroad so the 'supporters' are wearing brown linen suits and the groom an off white linen suit with blue shirts to match the bm dresses. They look great!

Kilt for me, although I am changing into a 1920's pin stripe suit and fedora for the reception, as our first dance is a argentine tango, and a kilt would not be appropriate :p
  • I've been left to decide what he wears, as well as plan the entire wedding haha!
I'm hopefully gonna get a 1950s Mod style Mohair double breasted suit tailored for him, with skinny fit trousers. He's extremely skinny and straight up and down so "normal" suits just drown him.

DH has chosen the Prince Edward style too. :)

(After much deliberation as to whether his existing suit would do/teasing about wearing fishing gear, waders etc... :D
