Yay Great Aunts are welcome too:DThe more the merrier:j:j:jHow about great aunts? Not that I let anyone use the "g" word in my hearing. I have also told dd I don't want to be grandma or nana. Not that she or her brother look like producing any time soon!!
We have a great neice who is 15 months old and as cute as a button. We don't see her too often (200 miles away) but she is very affectionate and not the least bit afraid of us even though we are relative strangers."You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I still a bit weird being a grandma. But then, my 2 grandchildren are both older than my youngest two children. LOL So it can be confusing.
I don't see DS1 (& DIL)'s son much, as they live a few hours away. But it's great when we do see him. I just am wary of saying anything that might come across as overbearing and such, being the MIL and all. DGS and our 3yo DS are 2 weeks apart in age, so it does give us lots to chat about though.
DD's son is 4yrs and when he's here he tends to run riot a bit, sometimes bullying our 3yo DS. So I will admit to some frustration there. But hopefully he will outgrow it.
I think a lot of it is that DS1's son has a personality that is much more like DS3 than DD's son, who is more high strung.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -

My mother wasn't scared of offending either, she just didn't care how much animosity she caused, in fact the more trouble she caused the more she liked it.........
She ended up alienating the whole family and then had the brass neck to complain that no one ever went to see her, when she greeted you with' what do you want?' are you surprised??????Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
