Save the Date Magnets!

Hi everyone,

I have ordered my save the date magnets, they are these ones. I think they are really cute I'm not getting married until September 2011, is it too early to send these out? or do you do it as soon as you set the date? Has anyone else here sent them?

The only thing I would say about sending them out so early is that you might send them to people that you then decide not to invite to the wedding...!!!

Depending on whether your guests need to book travel/accommodation, I wouldn't send them out just yet - but that's my opinion...!
I would think a year before would be fine......if you can hang on until then??

Yes I was thinking that maybe I should hang on a bit longer, we are having the wedding in Northern Ireland and there will be a lot of people coming over from Scotland/England so people will need to book accomodation.

They're lovely, I would hang on too. But not too long because people can book september flights in Jan can't they? Then they get the cheapest prices! I think maybe a year before. Or even early december with Christmas cards?

I'm getting married April 2011 and we sent our Save The Date magnets last week. We wanted to get them sent as we are getting Married on a Friday, and also as part of our deal from the venue includes free elements of the package if x number of people book overnight rooms at the reduced rate. Now the guests know who is invited, they can start booking their accomodation and planning ahead

I also found it really difficult talking about my wedding to my friends who didn't even know formally whether they were invited or not

It's up to you - I'd send them and get it done so you don't put them somewhere 'safe' and lose them haha

Oh i dont know what to do now lol. Just scared I will send them then people will be like 'god it's not for another year and a half, bit early isn't it' lol!

I'm getting married next February and I'm sending mine out in the next couple of weeks, once the bits arrive and I get myself into gear! I think a year is a good timescale to give people.

I love the magnets by the way, they're very cute!

Ok, I think I am going to hold out til it is about a year away, will stick one of them on our fridge to admire until then lol
