Hello all , thoughts welcome......
We have started our own DMP last year (Nov) , Barclays are by far the least helpful but anyway , we owe £6300 on a CC with them , i have requested the CCA from them (to try and enable us to pay how we can and on our terms ) and they sent a disputed copy and we have sent the dispute as advised by N.I.D , so thats where are at with that , today , instead of the reply to the CCA dispute that we were hoping for it was a letter from HQ in northampton saying sorry for your complaint ? but we cant accept £10 a month from you as its below our threshold to accept , in any event they say , we have to approach them in conjuuntion with a recognised charity , ie CAB or similar....
Really , bearing in mind the ongoing CCA disupte and the fact that i am happy for them to pass to debt collectors to try and stop this damn interest and late payment charges every month (as we are paying a £10 not the min amount on the statement) i am unsure where to turn , as i know this is where , if we follow the correct advice from N.I.D we stop paying anyway......
Any advice or questions welcome !
Cheers

I'm in the same boat with Barclaycard.
Initially did token payments of £5 times 2 a month for debts of £1750 and £3500. Can afford a total of £23 but their threshold is £40 + £20 (£60). I must go through either CCCS or CAB. Going to try again with them and just send them a letter with my payment - see what happens.
Still getting late charges off them even though they agreed two months of token payments.
It'll be good to see how you get on.

Aparently , just because i may go throuhg a debt charity , they are still (obviously) not obliged to accept the £10 anyway !0

Get some advice from a charity anyway, it's what they are there for. The charities are good at working out what is a fair and affordable payment. If you send your own SOA and an offer of payment to Barclays they might pick holes in it and pressure you to pay more than you can afford.0

I dont pressure easily mate , i know they can only have what we can afford and i am as aware of our rights as anyone who works in our local CAB , they only use the Internet anyway , same as me...0

They told me they'd take an offer through the CAB too. So long as it had a reference number. As you say, they may not accept it.
I found the CCCS quite slow (sorry) so when I was contacting my creditors to advise I was in financial difficulty, I sorted out stuff there and then. Also, CCCS initially wouldn't take us on as a DMP would take over 20 years to complete. However, they didn't take into account the fact that a secured loan would finish in seven years.
Also, my pay fluctuates severely from month to month and I find it easier to control the payments myself.
May go through CAB though if that's what Barclaycard want - them and Tesco's are the only ones playing silly beggars at the moment.
