Tuesday 16th February 2010 - What small DFW things have you done today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :D
Morning everyone!

This is my first time ever of starting the thread so hope I've done it right!

  • Morning all!
Up bright and early again this morning (on my week off!!) - had to take OH to Warrington to get his car serviced - will have to go again later to pick it up again - hmmm...

But on the way back we stopped at the posh butchers I've been trying to get OH to go to so he can see what its like and tell me what he wants me to buy - they do lots of unusual stuff and are more than a chicken and roast type of butchers
Result - he got carried away and bought enough meat to last him about 3 weeks (I'm a veggie so he even bought it out of his own pocket, bless him - I usually get meat with the supermarket shop but he doesn't feel the need to pay for that separately!)
So at least my shopping budget may be a bit healthier for the next couple of weeks!

    The rest of today...
    • Checked banks
    • Phoned restaurant about early bird deal for tonight - treat for us as we rarely have a day off together
    • Do some school work - must do this!
    • Walk dog x3 for free exercise
    • Hoover downstairs
    • Make lunch from stores
    • Done one wash and drying on airer
    • Put yesterday's dry washing away
    • Do a budget for the next couple of weeks until I get paid again
    • Do a stocktake of freezer (now including a carrier bag full of meat courtesy of OH!)
    That's all - have a good day!
