Hi there, this company are a right set of chancers who seem to be known for buying statute barred debts.
I have had problems with these people before, same problem as you. I contacted National Debtline and they sent me the Statute Barred letter to send to them, never heard from them again
.
I know there will be a template letter on here somewhere for you to take a look at but am a 'Newbie' myself, so not sure how to direct you.
When you send the letter, send by Recorded Delivery which gives you proof that they received it. Hope this helps a bit .'The most important things in your life aren't things.'0 -
Send the correct SB letter - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=11571227#post11571227
If its over 6 years since you made payment, or confirmed the debt in writing it is statue barred.
You can tag in the letter that the recent statement you received from them shows the last payment was over 8 years ago, well within the time limit. So even if the debt was your it is unenforceable.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
