Sorry if it's a bit rambling..
I'm currently in communication with Moorcroft as my partner and I have a joint debt and I have single debt with Natwest. We have been passed from DCA to DCA (think this is the 3rd one to contact us) so I have requested the CCA for the joint debt (the letter was addressed to my partner) and also my single one.
Moorcroft replied saying they had passed the info onto their client (I'm assuming they mean Natwest) and that they would supply it asap. This was 19 days ago and not heard anything, so I sent the 2nd letter to them today. Natwest replied to me for my single one saying that I needed to provide an account number and sort code (as I provided the client ref number in my original letter and not the correct acc. number.) they also asked for me to sign the letter. I sent them the 'I'm not signing anything' letter and also sent the details they requested. So just going to wait to see what happens then and make an offer for repayment.
However, this is where I get slightly worried. I got a letter today - addressed to someone who I think may be our landlord (we go through a letting agent and I've lost the piece of paper we were given with his name on) - it looked serious so I googled the return address and it came back with a DCA (Cabot Financial) who deal with natwest debts. I could just about make out "Notice of intended..." and it looked pretty official. Now, we've not had anything else for him from anybody so could it have been meant for us, just using the wrong name? I returned it saying the person was not known at this address. Was this the right thing to do?

i might be wrong but i am pretty sure that they can not send details about you to your landlord or anyone else for that matter if that is what you are asking? x
he could very well have debts of his own and they are trying to trace him x
yes you are correct to send it back as he does not live there x0 -
Indeed.
It is just a scare tactic to make you think they're asking the landlord to evict you. They will try all sorts to make you pay.
Do your debts include bank charges or PPI?[strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0 -
Thanks for your help, I'm glad I sent it back now. Just have to sit back and wait for them to get back to me now..
They do include bank charges which I was hoping to claim back, which is why this has gone on for so long - they were chasing me for it even though I'd said I was waiting for the court decision. Now I'm just eager to start paying back asap, even though we can't afford much each month. Will just feel better about things if I can get a grip on it!
Thanks again for your help
