Request for Income Expediture illustration

Hi all,

Just a quickie. My creditor is asking for an Income/Expenditure layout, & also details of my current employer including payroll number, & they have given me 14 days to produce it. My question is, am i LEGALLY obliged by law to give them this information. I read somewhere that I am not, but that was a while ago & i cannot remember where i read it.

Thanks

You are not legally obliged to give them this information. I would not give your employer details etc. However whilst you do not have to give an I&E if you want them to accept a repayment plan its usually the way to get them to do this, as it proves you are offering to pay all you can afford and that you are not spending on luxuries - this is a good format (and will make sure you have thought of every cost - http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html) though I wouldn't give them the breakdown of your debts (if you have others) nor let them know the value of your assets etc. You just want the top part of the SoA essentially.
Do be aware if you put in what they consider to be excessive amounts they will simply discount them and say you can afford more. It might be an idea to post it on here first as we may spot any problems they will have with it.

  • I already have a payment plan with them. The debt is with Nat West, & it was passed on to Triton Credit Services. After numerous problems with Triton & their bullying tactics, I wrote a letter of complaint to Nat West & they reverted my account back to their own Recovery Centre. I have had an arrangement in place since December 2007.

In the same vein, are they legally obliged to furnish me with a statement of monies owed, monies paid so far, & interest accrued?

    Thanks
