    pretty certain you can claim jsa with savings for 6 months then it is subject to means
    income support can never be claimed with savings over a certain amount
  • If you've paid the correct National Insurance contributions for 2 years, you can qualify for 6 months "contributions-based JSA", irrrespective of your savings.

    At the end of 6 months, you get switched to "income-based JSA" which will then hit the savings issue at £16k.
    Act in haste, repent at leisure.
