I checked one of these models out today and there is no mention of divx or avi playback on the packaging. So I give it a miss just incase it's not compatible.

apparently it is divx and avi playback, if it doesnt do what you require you can take it back

cant believe i actualy got one of these so called specials evey time ive gone for one from aldi and lidl at 9.30 ive still never managed to get one.anyway this dvd players great plays films from my usb 2 external hd no problem where as the umax chili 7200 which i bought from 3 wise monkeys doesnt i got the last one at 9.45 this morning.as i say a great buy

Can it be made multi-region cos I cant find anything on it as yet.

Yep, Bob. It can be made multiregion by doing the following:

Power on
Open tray
Press 1030
Press 0 to set it to region free.

When you press 1030, nothing on the screen will change. The change will only show once you have selected the region you want to change the player to. So, when you press 0 for region 0, it will say Region 0 at the bottom of the screen. Job's a good'un. Just tested my Shrek R1 dvd - working fine.
