Is Take'n' Play the same as Take Along Thomas?

Argos have this set and it says it is from the Thomas Take'n' Play Range: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9238529/Trail/searchtext%3ETHOMAS.htm

I am looking at the connectors and it looks the same as 'Take Along Thomas' but having Googled it T'n'P is the US name for the range. Just wondered why Argos have not called it Take Along.

Does anyone have this range that can confirm it connects to Take Along please. It has been bought for my Thomas mad son (who is 6) but if it does not connect I'll have to see if I can exchange it for something else.

This new range from Take N Play will replace Take Along in the summer of 2010, it is compatible with Take Along and looks exactly the same which is great news for collectors, mums and little engineers, as they can keep on collecting new engines that will work with existing playsets and engines.

Thought I would leave this here in cas anyone else was interested in it. Hopefully we can expect some decent reductions on Take Along then.
