    my brother does this an he makes a good income. What he does is concentrate on a handful of customers and ones that waste his time doesn't go back. He at times offers free repairs if they are simple to retain customers. I have tried this but finding it hard to attract customers business cards do not work.

    I used to do this. The key to attracting new customers is getting "word of mouth" referrals from past customers. Another way to get customers if by posting ads in free online classifieds.
