It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

    Good luck Lou.

I need some advice. GS (11 months) started erupting at both ends on Friday and only stopped throwing up yesterday. Every time DD1 feeds him it reappears very rapidly and wetly at the other end! What should she be doing?

(DD1 started back at work last week and childminder has understandably refused to have him. So guess who has to be over there at 8am in the morning? Feel a little miffed as i will not get much work done and will have to do it tomorrow night and cancel having DD2 for pancakes but I guess that's ok. Rather that than be branded a selfish granny I suppose. Throw in the complication of DD2 being due to burst on Thursday! I'm not really moaning.)
I just wish she'd stop feeding him to get it sorted out or is that wrong?

Bookie sounds like he has a tummy bug. No food for at least 12 hours, give him water and diorolyte if needed.

Does your daughter realise you now have to work. Not teaching you to suck eggs but GS is her responsibility and if he is sick then she needs to be taking time off work. Yes you have been able to do up until now as you haven't been working, but you need to start saying NO.

  • Thank you all for your kind comments about my curtains. they've made the spare bedroom feel much lighter.

Right time to crack on with my assignment.

Bookie, has your DD1 spoken to the DR or nurse about it?

No its not wrong Bookie, she should perhaps get some diarolyte from the docs and just give him that.

You find as soon as they start mixing in environments where there are other children, they start to pick allsorts up but they soon become immune....

Personally I think she should stay with him, there's no point spreading it around when you could be needed to be with DD2, who really doesn't need the added complications of a D&V bug.

At that age I think a suck on the odd ice pop to get some liquid in to him without overloading his tummy would be best, little and often and keep it plain and simple.

Liquids and rehydration sachets. It's very important he doesn't get dehydrated.
