HELP where do I stand

I ordered some goods from a website belonging to a chain of high street fashion shops. They were not suitable when they arrived so I returned them. I have just had an email from the company saying that they received one item (worth £30) and will be issuing a refund for £30 - but the goods I returned were 4 items worth a total of £126 - they say they only received one of the items.

I have a certificate of posting - but that doesn't prove there were FOUR items in the package, does it?! What can I do?

Have you contacted them to say that there were 4 items? It may just be a mistake on their part.

yes I phoned them and according to their system they only received one item - they are checking it out and promised to get back to me. But I am worried - can't afford to lose all that money!!!

Don't worry, the proof of posting was the reciept right??
If so, the price you paid will reflect the package's weight so you'll be covered there....Ie, all they'd have to do was weigh the item they recieved ;)

I have just spoken to them and they said I am covered as long as I hold on to the receipt for how much it was and the proof of posting..... but I still don't know WHEN I'll get my refund - it's certainly made me think twice about internet/catalogue shopping in the future!

I've just had a similar thing where I ordered one item and got sent 2 completely random items with the invoice for the item I had ordered. I rang CS and they cancelled my order for the original item and reordered it, then put the 2 items that had been delivered on my account as if I had ordered them so that I could return them. I parcelled them up in one parcel and sent it back via their courier. I got creditted for one item but not the other. I emailed numerous times and kept getting sent bog standard email replies which was totally infuriating. But I kept replying getting slightly snottier each time to the point when I ordered them to read my emails properly and respond appropriately. Eventually they took my word for it and creditted my account. They kept insisting that I sent them the barcaode off the collection receipt but that just showed that a parcel had been collected not how many items were in it. Just stick at it and keep hassling them. Eventually they will get fed up and decide its not worth all the grief and credit your account properly.
