Finished Uni... No Jobs and stuck what to do....

I graduated from Uni over a year ago now, and all ive done since uni and for years during uni is working in supermarkets part time and im getting really fed up.
I got made redundant from one job in end of june, which was worrying (altho all these are part time) but was lucky enough to start another job a week later.
When i was coming up to leaving 1st job, i was quite looking forward to not working in retail, but obv cant turn down a good job so took it while i could.
Been at this new job over 6 months now and really dont like it, just need a change.
Heres the problem, I cant find anything else. I have bad arthritis in my knees (and several other joints) so need a job where ill be sitting down all day.
Ive been looking into office jobs but all are full time - and im not sure if i can manage that, or want lots of experience, which i dont have.
Even looked at a few temping agencies but some i went to werent very helpful just said check online/ want experience.
I thought things were really looking up last week as i got a phone call from Graduate Advantage who saw my CV on reed and said they saw a web design job which would suit me, so i rang them back and they sent my CV to the company.
Later that day got an email back from the company saying they had 'no immediate vacancies' and are re-locating in march, if it wasnt too far i could pop in for an informal chat to see what my skills are if they had any jobs in the future.
But i had to turn them down as it would be too far to travel aswell as working full time.
Feels like im a but stuck in a rut, really want to get a full time job and move on but really not getting the chance!

I don't know if it's too late now - but if something similar happens you should just go in for the chat...even if it is too far to travel for you full time - maybe they might have some part time work or work from home possibilities - or maybe you could move.
I graduated a few years ago and have realised that I really do have to be willing to move to get the job I want (unless I am really lucky)0 -
I don't quite understand why you can't work full time if it were in an office?0

Where have you been actively looking (other than making your CV searchable on agency sites)?
What degree did you get?
Any careers that you'd really like to do? OK, they'd have to be sitting down (but why part-time?), but what particular sector(s) are you looking for?
Not to undermine your arthritis, but my mum has got chronic respiratory problems, arthritis, back problems and osteoporosis (I can't spell that!?), to the point where she can hardly walk some days. She's never struggled with fulltime hours - though obviously she can't work 'physical' jobs.£1 / 50p 2011 holiday flight + hotel expenses = £98.50/£600
HSBC 8% 12mth regular savings = £80 out of a maximum remaining allowance of £2500
"3 months' salary" reserve = £00 / £3600 :eek:0 -
What about call centre work? Okay it's not a great career, but there are opportunities for part time working if that's waht you are after, and it's a sit down job. If you managed to get into Civil Service then you could get a career from it that way.

The job they had listed was just the 1 full time graduate job which was through graduate advantage.
I would move but cant at the moment as I have hospital twice a week, and dont want to have to switch to a different hospital as ive been on a waiting list for a while. Which also makes full time work hard with having to fit around hospital appointments.Make £10 a day Challenge June - £1700 -

It sounds like you are being really defeatist. i.e. maybe if you have gone in for the chat and explained your circumstances they might have liked you enough to offer you something more flexible? unlikely but you never know and interview experience is good..
I think you need to try and work out what you are passionate about? what do you enjoy? what are you good at?
working with people? with computers? with fashion? etc...are you interested in politics or news or I don't know what. Sounds like you have a CV suited to web design so is that something you want to get into?
then you have to try and not end sentences with 'but...'
(I am speaking from the vantage point of do as I say not as I do...it has taken me 2/3 years after uni to work out what I want to do)0
