Worrying situation

:eek:Never been in debt, all my payments are up to date but am finding it increasingly difficult to manage despite cutting back on 'general spaending', e.g. no newspapers or mags, never eat ot drink out, shop only for essentials. I have £2800 of debt which is up to date but am finding it very difficult to make the correct payments. I want to, as I have already said, I am not behind with any payments, does anyone have any sensible and polite ideas where else I could make savings please

A good idea is posting a full accurate SOA. We can then have a look and see if we can see any savings available each month.

Selling unwanted things on ebay or car bootsales help some people.
A 2nd job if possible (even a little one at weekends) until debt is cleared.
If you have a skill maybe use this ie, gardening, decorating, window cleaning, rubbish clearance if you have a van or large car.

    Good luck x

Hi Older, thanks for posting. It would help if you could post a full SOA using this link:

    http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html

I know it's difficult to put it out there and have people picking over what you spend your money on but it is necessary so people can offer appropriate advice.

Did I read right that you say you're a pensioner (on the other thread)?

Maybe a job at B&Q? Or if you have a garden maybe a vegetable patch to save on some of your groceries?

You could also look on the "Up Your Income" board for ideas. I saw a thread on there yesterday called "Tasteradar" (or something like that) whereby you send in reviews on fruit and veg and send them your reciepts and they will reimburse you up to £25 per month. Yay! Free healthy food! Go check out the thread.

Also, as others have suggested you could pop in to the Old Style board where they have loads of hints and tips on how to save more on your grocery shopping.

    Hope that helps
