Artificial hanging baskets... New mum needs help!

As a mum to a five month old baby I don't have time for the garden anymore but still want it to look pretty. IN my last attempt at baskets I have killed lavendar, ivy and even succulents
. I've seen companies selling fake hanging baskets online but they want £50 each and I would need seven (thats a lot of nappies....). I can buy fake plants cheaply on ebay but would they last outside?
Trying to earn £2015 in 2015. Slightly early start
. £175.88 today.

These a house near us which has a fake fuchsia hanging basket outside. I'm sure its there all year round.
I imagine they might fade after some time in the sun, but apart from that, you should be okay.0 -
I have some trellis I painted a pretty colour and wrapped fake flowers on just to distract from ugliness of wall.Fake ivy doesnt look so bad. They will fade.I think i'd rather be without my baskets though than put fake up.I put tete a tete bulbs in my planters gives them a bit more colour in spring and I can simply leave them in.0

If you have real hanging baskets you can add "swell gel" to help with water retention if watering is the problem. Also I think you can get spikes that attach to a water bottle so you can spike it in upside down and it slowly adds water. Possibly water retention options would be cheaper than buying fake baskets at that price.0

surely you could make these yourself, i have always seen silk flowers in charity shops for not much money. other places like garden centres have lots of varietys. even if you used real moss then arranged it on top of thatMake £10 a day challenge March 2013 £101.24 / £240 :j

Another thing is do you have a friend who can come round to help you from time to time? I have a friend with a 18 mth and 5mth old. Ever since the second was born, I've gone round one morning a week. I look after the children (which to me is just playing as I don't have any of my own yet) and she is free to get on with cleaning/tidying/shopping etc. I feel like I get the better deal out of it but she finds it helpful to have a bit of a break and time to get on top of things.0
