I am making low fat banana cake, literally as I type. The receipe is American and says all purpose flour is that plain? also says baking soda, is that baking powder or bicarb of soda? and is in cups as a measurement should I use a teacup type size cup?

All purpose flour is like our plain flour. Baking soda is like our bicarb of soda, not like our baking powder which also tends to have cream of tartar and starch in it too.

Cup measurements are quite variable, several different versions in different countries, but if everything is in cups then it will stay in proportion whatever size you use. The cup measurement I use though is about teacup size.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
