Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

    Thanks everyone!

B.H. - Yessss..fantastic feeling..was singing Dancing on the Ceiling by Lionel Ritchie today :rotfl:

    Kevin_M - I'm chasing that £15K down alright..it'll be around Feb/March according to my spreadsheet :D

Toto - You are so right - I'm the one fleecing them now (no bank charges to claim unfortunately)...but making use of 0% cc's for BTs, current accounts paying interest but no account charge, etc.

Fishface - I've learnt so much I don't know where to begin! Biggest thing has got to be just not needing stuff...whether it's Sky (I got rid of), Mobile on contract (went to PAYG in May and still got £8 credit from original £12), giving up smoking and that I tell any financial or utility sales person about MSE and they end up writing it down to take a look!

The site and especially the forums have saved me from struggling to pay minimum payments originally to living within my means and overpaying. I can't thank you guys enough :T :T

I feel liberated and can't stop being evangelical about MSE ! :D
    Back on the DFW Wagon:

    CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
    Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/18
