hi just wanted to say im keeping up with this thread. im currently unemployed and now stuck as well with stock to sell as ebay have decided to shut me down for no apparent reason (100% positive feedback fees upto date as well) i dont know wether this is allowed but anyone whose interested in very cheap new and used clothing (mens, womens, babies and maternity) can pm me and we can arrange something. im sorry if this isnt allowed but trying to rid of my stock and help out people on here make their targets.

also just a general question for any websited based people i wondered if i was to create a webshop has anyone ever actually made money on their to keep it going?

Have you sent ebay an email asking why they have closed you down? Clothes aren't really my forte but good luck trying to get rid of them.

As for I website I have one and it was gong pretty well until I dwindled it down I do plan to re start .................eventually. Made it through DYOS and pretty cheap to maintain. x

yes i emailed them to ask and they come back saying it was associated with another account. my problem is that i live in a shared house, with shared internet connection and shared phone number, i know a flatmate got banned because they said she was selling high risk items (it was ds games she was listing (she uses a wholesaler in the uk and provided invoices showing inventory but still decided to shut her down)

i didnt think they could just shut me down. i was rather annoyed as i had watchers and people who bought items which i now have to refund as im not protected either way) i just dont know wether to open up a shop and wether ill get enough orders.

i have used and brand new clothing and thats how ive been operating for years now all of a sudden business on ebay gone

some advice as well needed is ebid auctions any good? does anyone actually sell on there regularly

I need to dribble a bit as I'm feeling a bit blagh too - mentally and physically. Nothing major wrong with me, just a bit tired and wobbly - doctor has put me on antibiotics (had colitis years ago and it might be related to that).

Also feeling rather isolated (problem with a place like Barcelona is that people come and go so it's hard to make lasting friendships), and like I'm in a 'stuck' phase.
  • added 20 things to ebay today, won another £20 last night :) on a roll

went for a walk in lyme park with the OH aswell earlier
  • Hhh - I think it would be a lot harder to start your business on your own website, because you'd have to bring your own traffic. I'd fight with Ebay if I was you, you seem to have just given up and if it really is your livelihood, you can't afford to do that. Ebid etc are okay, but Ebay is the most popular, so you probably won't get half your normal sales on a different site.

I don't think selling your stock online would work either, really. Most people are suspicious these days, and will think you are selling it because you can't sell it yourself. Used clothes can be hard work to sell, and time consuming, and not being able to see them first could be a problem.

Did you tell Ebay you live in a shared house? HTH a little...

Amber - Oh, I hope you feel better soon :(

Was going to cook with OH today, and have some wine. But he needed to go get it, and he woke up late and watched the rugby, and all the supermarkets closed at 4pm. Microwave/oven still out of action, so god knows what we'll eat...please not pasta!!

Shower livened me up a little. Still feeling shattered and very sore all over but really want a finished notebook to show now, so I'm working on them, and through my checklist.

Good site for volunteering opportunities for anyone wanting to improve their CV, get back into work etc.. Just type in your postcode and it'll generate all the opportunities in your local area.
    Just £10,852.28p to go...

    :D

    Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...";
    And then do it.

Maybe send OH to the local shop? Or get a takeout? It's the chinese new year :) Don't let him get away with that lol - he better have a plan up his sleeve!

I'd like to start a type of 'agony aunt' website, offering advice/ information/ signposting support etc but have absolutely no IT/ web design knowledge or experience and have no idea about how this would generate any income? Would anyone with these skills like to buddy up on this project? I actually have two projects in mind but not sure how to further these... Please PM me if interested :)

I had a similar idea months ago but I just wouldn't know where to start or how it could get income. I am happy to help you though.
