Sole selling agent
My friend signed contract with estate agent giving sole selling rights. The estate agent was paid up front for initial fees, about £150.
A few days later a relative of hers decided to buy her house. The estate agent was not involved and did not introduce the relative to the seller.
But the estate agent wants his commission on the sale, around £1800.
I've looked at the contract and I don't see anyway out of it, but does anyone know if there is a way. The sale is in Scotland. The sale was agreed less than 7 days after signing contract and the agent informed.
