OS Lemsips - possible?

My OH has a thing for Lemsips - as soon as he starts to get a cold or sore throat he'll start taking the Lemsips to "ward it off". He believe a day of taking them may stop them coming on (hasn't worked so far!!).
Anyway, we always have to have Lemsips (of Beechams) in just in case.
When I am ill I just use 16p paracetemols and hot blackcurrant juice, which is much cheaper.
Hubby is now on his second cold type illness since Christmas and tanning the Lemsips (3 or 4 a day, the correct usage) and it's costing me a FORTUNE.
Is there anyway I could make my own version? The ingredients look pretty simply (paracetmol, decongestant, lemon juice) but how could I make it into a nice hot drink for him?

When i've got a cold i put 1/4 of a lemon in a big mug, fill with hot water the add a teaspoon of honey. Then take some paracetamols as well. It does seem to help especially for a sore throat and is really cheap.0

My OH makes his own Lemsips by squeezing the juice of half a lemon into a mug, adds two teaspoons of runny honey, mix them together and then fill the mug up with boiling water. Then takes a paracetomal as he's drinking it. Add more honey or lemon depending on your tastebuds. It's pretty effective and he used to be a devout Lemsip drinker too.

Suggest you try a killer toddy - honey, sliced lemon or juice, pinch of cayenne pepper, pinch of ginger, hot water and a dash of something alcoholic (but only if you have it in the house already, don't go buying it just for this) will do the job and be comforting as well. And if that isn't satisfactory, get him to buy his own Lemsips! One life - your life - live it!0
