As Ive stated in another post I feel fortunate that I have some surplus to pay the IPA and a little surplus for myself for emergencies. Most people dont have any sort of surplus.
I got myself into this mess and paying the IPA for 3 years is a small price to pay for my peace of mind.
And if I have a surplus I should pay at least something back, I guess I just look at the IPA differently
    classy

That is exactly how I feel towards an IPA s well.

I completely agree, but in my circumstances, I was forced to go BR by a bank closing down my profitable business by withdrawing it's (very hefty) business overdraft. Put me out of business creating lots of personal debt and also put two of my employees out of work. So I have no real remorse for not giving them anything back.

And I'm sure it was one of those banks reporting profits like Barclays today with their £1.56 billion. I'm sure they have little remorse putting you and 2 employees (possibly with families) out of work in this recession.

Actually it was £11.6 billion  so I can completely understand peoples hatred of the banks and how they treat the small businessman.

  • The post was just my opinion on my own IPA but I do realise that we all have had different circumstances re going BR, I honestly dont mind my IPA but thats just me, I meant no offence to anyone else

  • I understand your having no remorse but in my case I made myself bankrupt, I had the loans etc I spent the money so it wouldnt re right to keep all my surplus so I understand why they want 60% and now Im not in despair anymore, I can sleep so I really dont mind
