Cash for silver?

Had a look and not quite sure where to post this question. I have a lot of silver jewelry that I never wear and and wondered if anyone had used a 'cash for silver' company and what kind of return did they get? and finally..what company would you recommend? Thanks

I think it would be very much like the "cash for gold" companies that have sprung up over the last year or so, they don't offer anywhere near the real value of the weight of the gold.
Remember these companies are buying the material (the silver) not the decorative crafted item (jewellery) that you own.
The usual advice to the gold sellers is to avoid these "cash4gold/silver" places and to go to jewellers (especially if they craft their own jewellery) or siversmiths local to you. Better still if you're in a big city that has a jewellery quarter you'll more than likely get a much better price for your silver.
Hope that helps.

I recently had a whole box full of old sterling jewelry that I no longer wore and wanted to cash it in. Since I knew so many of these online buy guys can be rip-offs...I decided to get informed!! I first went around to a few local guys and got some estimates, that was disappointing. But then I checked the prices for some of the online guys and found they could offer way more (I guess because they don't have all the overhead costs).
so then....I wanted to be sure to go with a reputable company and not one of the scammer....so I did LOTS of research and finally found one that was really reputable - - they had ZERO BBB compalints (that says alot in this business!) Then I read their terms and conditions (this is where most of these companies "get ya". Theirs was clean, straight forward and no sneaky stuff.
So - I tried them...sent in only a little bit (heck they pay for shipping!)...and I was REALLY surprised at how much they gave me - almost 3 times as much! They were really honest, professional and really great to deal with. I recommend checking them out - the Silver And Gold Exchange (located in NH). Here's a link if you want to find them silverandgoldexchange.com
I was so pleased with them - I'm going to send the rest of my stuff in!

How do we know that you are not associated with this company in some way?#0

Actually I've heard of this company before. They've got an excellent reputation for gold & silver. They're known for paying over the odds compared to other companies. :T0

Hatton Garden Metals take silver - probably want the little lion hallmark on it.
See their big gold thread on here.
I stuck a silver paperclip in my gold parcel and got paid for it!0
