Uveitis (Iritis) and Mydrilate eye drops

Hi,
I was diagnosed with uveitis over a week ago and after a week of 2 kinds of eye drops have been told it's all clear.
I no longer need to take the Mydrilate drops to dilate my pupil, but am still taking Pred Forte in incrementally smaller doses over the next few weeks to prevent it recurring.
My question is this: Has anyone here been on the Mydrilate drops before, and if so how long before your vision was back to normal after you stopped using it?
All I can find on the web says the effects should be gone within 20 hours, whereas an opthalmologist's own website reckons it can stay for a couple of days. My eye is still dilated, although not as big as before, but the pupil doesn't react to light, so is still under the effects of the drops, and my sight is still bad. Any ideas on how long I can expect this to go on (3 days and counting...)?
Thanks.
(seeing as it's the weekend, and I don't imagine anything can be done to help it get back to normal sooner, I didn't see the point in going to the hospital or GP's right now - unless anyone thinks that it might be necessary...)
Thanks, MrsB.

Hi,
I have Uveatic Glaucoma, and regularly have attacks, especially when i am stressed. (Try to avoid stress whatever you do because it can bring an attack on)
Your pupil should return to normal over around 3-4 days, or in your case a little bit longer.
You will notice a difference in your pupil every day, until it is back to normal. Unfortuanately you just have to be patient.
Until your pupil is back to normal your vision will be blurred, but will gradually improve as the medication wears off.
I hope this helps.1 -
Thanks for the replies, my eye was back to normal by the next morning, and eyesight is fine now
.
Msflowerfairy this was my first attack, and stress was almost certainly a factor. You have my sympathies, I'd hate to have it recur, although I have been told it's a possibility. I'm glad you mentioned it takes 2-3 days as the opthalmologist said it would be better by the end of the day/next morning, and time seemed to be dragging.
