Final settlement offers on very very small debts?

I owe £60 to MBNA credit card and £100 on a co-op overdraft (i'm paying them back £1 a month at the mo each) and my circumstances are not likely to change at the mo due to my husbands terminally ill

I'm being given a small amount of money (£200) and would like to get these paid off

Do you think they'd accept a final settlement offer for these debts??

If so, what should I offer?

Thanks in advance:beer:

Absolutely, treat yourselves, he's more important than anything else. If you've explained the situation to the Card Firms involved I'm surprised that they've not written such small amounts off!
    :D:D stay wonky :D:D

....one-way ticket to Portugal booked !
  • Really? Might they consider writing it off if I explain my circumstances??
  • Anyone?

    Thanks again in advnace:beer:

If you haven't explained your circumstances to them then I would definitely do so. My dear friend (who passed away from MS 3 years ago) had some debts written off including his large mortgage (although that was paid by insurance, so not actually written off, but a couple of smaller debts were) so it's worth letting them know just in case.

I phoned co-op and they said they'd settle it for £94 (i owe £100!) and said errrr no, and they said to write in with my offer and proof of circmstances....so I've done that..... i'm not hopeful though

I also have written in to MBNA...
