Free things: Gallery of Modren Art in glasgow city centre , Transport museum (It is more fun than it sounds!!) and Kelvingrove museum just across the road easy to get to!
Youve also got the science centre which you do need to pay for but it is well worth the money as it will keep anyone entertained!0 -
The Peoples' Palace at Glasgow Green;
Burrell Collection & Pollok House in Pollok Estate
Botanic Gardens near Byres Road;
Fossil Grove in Victoria Park;
walking, plenty parks & the West Highland Way starts at Milngavie;
cycling, plenty cycle paths;
many antique shops to browse;
in summer time many parks run free events.
AYRSHIRE/RENFREWSHIRE:
Castle Semple, RSPB & Muirshiel Park near Lochwinnoch;
Beach at Ayr/ Troon.
N.Never be afraid to take a profit.
Keep breathing. :eek:
Just because I am surrounded by FOOLS does not make me wise. :j0 -
Another vote for the Transport Museum (free) It's brilliant.
There's also the Science Centre (not free, but there's usually money off vouchers on the web site.)0 -
Pollok House free entry until the end of March.
Really helpful staff/volunteers and lovely cakes in the cafe!0 -
Start at the Kibble Palace in the Botanic Gardens, meander down past the Byres Rd Charity Shops (and also the nearby lanes) heading eventually to Partick Railway Station, then hop on a train to Bellgrove and toddle up to Duke Street. There are various cafes and charity shops in this neighbourhood. Hilllfoot St is worth a look for coffee and cake, as is Whitehill St.. Alternatively, do it in reverse and puzzle over the grasping prices at the west end charity shops0
