Right, I've had it with shaving/waxing and have decided to buy an epilator. If I bite the bullet now I reckon I'll be used to the sensation/pain by the time summer comes and my pins get some airing.
So, any models I should look at/avoid?
Any positive epilation stories you care to share?
Thanks girls

I'm prepared for the, erm, discomfort, but I think the weeks of smoothness should make up for it.
Thanks for that.Come ride with me, through the veins of history...

I can recommend this Braun one http://www.boots.com/en/Braun-Silk-%C3%83%C2%A9pil-Xpressive-7781-Wet-Dry-epilator_863484/
It's an excellent piece of kit for legs and underarms....I'm still trying to pluck (pardon the pun) up the courage to do the bikini line with it. That's a really good price at Boots at the minute too.0 -
I quite fancy one you could use in the shower. Does it make it less painful done in water?I can recommend this Braun one http://www.boots.com/en/Braun-Silk-%C3%83%C2%A9pil-Xpressive-7781-Wet-Dry-epilator_863484/

I have 2 - the phillips one has been ditched for a babyliss one with 2 rotating heads so the hair comes out twice a quick. I don't know about it hurting less under water but I usually epilate after a shower or bath so the hair comes out easier (and twice a quick with the babyliss)If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

I've never actually used it in the shower but as your hair follicles open more in warm water, I imagine the hairs may come out a bit less painfully.
Have to say that I don't find epilating painful at all...although I apparently have an unually high pain threshold (according to surgeon who operated on me under local anaesthetic) so maybe I'm not the best person to advise on the pain side of things....0 -

I have a Philips epilator and it works quite well but it is a bit like waxing you have to something for it to grab onto IFYSWIM. It only hurts for the first few seconds.
I have a Babyliss thing that works sort of like sandpaper. The box is long gone and I forget what it is called. It is brilliant for legs.Retail is the only therapy that works0 -
I bought this one - http://www.boots.com/en/Braun-Silk-%C3%83%C2%A9pil-Xelle-5770-Epilator_863570/ from argos, find it brill.
It's got a head with massaging things that help if hairs are onger or 1st few times, got a professional head which is quicker (like on legs now), and 2 speed settings too.
Also has a narrow head for things like underarms (and maybe bikini line) and like s single tweezer head for like on your face, a cooling glove and gel pack (again found that qutie useful to begin with! And even now on sensitive areas, or when I have a headache)
Not sure how it is compared to others, but I've found it to be brilliant.0
